Natural gas is still essential for Germany’s energy security.

As Europe’s leading gas transmission system operator, OGE plays a vitally important role in securing energy supplies for Germany and Europe. Today it’s natural gas, tomorrow it will be hydrogen and CO2.

With our pipeline network spanning approximately 12,000 kilometres, we move around two thirds of the gas required in Germany on behalf of our customers. We are making a significant contribution to security of supply, particularly when it comes to diversifying natural gas sources. How? By operating network connections to nine neighbouring countries, one LNG terminal in Wilhelmshaven, almost 100 downstream network operators, numerous industrial companies and storage facilities.

We ensure that transmission requests are processed in accordance with a transparent, non-discriminatory and market-oriented procedure. We support our customers on their way to climate neutrality with biogas, hydrogen and CO2.
